Rio’s opened on a quiet stretch of Lindley with two chairs, one barber pole and a hand-painted sign. Six years on there are six chairs, a wall of regulars, and the same rule we started with: nobody leaves the chair until it looks right.
We are a barbershop, not a salon. That means clippers, scissors, straight razors and hot towels — done properly, in a room where the TV is on and somebody is always arguing about the game.

Hot towels, straight razors and a proper line-up. The fundamentals do not go out of style, so we never stopped teaching them.

Textured cuts, curl work, and the calmest chair in the room for a first haircut. Books out early on Saturdays — call ahead.

Straight-razor shaves and beard shaping. The reason people come back for the hot towel service a second time.
