2025 Scholarship Fund
Help us award 20 scholarships this year to graduating seniors pursuing higher education.
Becas, útiles escolares y programas de enriquecimiento que dan a los estudiantes hispanos las herramientas que necesitan para prosperar — desde primer grado hasta graduarse de la universidad.
Founded in 2015 by a group of East Los Angeles educators, parents, and community advocates, Alonzo was born from a simple truth: talented Hispanic students were falling behind — not because of their potential, but because of missing resources.
What started as a backpack drive serving 80 families at Sacred Heart Community Center now reaches over 1,200 students annually across California, Texas, Arizona, and Florida.
Up to $5,000 per year, renewable for 4 years for qualifying first-generation students.
Every program is designed with and for Hispanic families — bilingual, culturally rooted.
Zero administrative overhead taken from donor contributions.
Every program targets a specific barrier Hispanic students face on their path to education.
Need-based and merit awards of $1,000–$5,000 per year for first-generation Hispanic college students.

The Alonzo scholarship changed everything for me. I was the first in my family to attend college, and I could not have done it without this community believing in me and investing in my future.
Snapshots from scholarship ceremonies, supply drives, and student events throughout the year.
“The back-to-school kit meant I started 8th grade with new pencils, a graphing calculator, and a clean backpack. My teacher noticed. It sounds small — it changed everything for me.”
“My daughter wanted to play soccer for three years but we couldn't afford the registration fee. Alonzo made it happen. She scored two goals in her first game. I cried the whole time.”
“Growing up in Compton, college felt like a dream for other people — not for someone like me. The Alonzo scholarship told me I was worth investing in.”
“The STEM lab gave me access to a robotics kit I never could have afforded. I placed 2nd at the county science fair. I want to be an engineer.”
